General Wellness Connection

Practices to reduce stress, protect your overall health, and help you respond early when you feel out of balance.

General wellness can feel overwhelming when life gets busy, but often, fatigue or stress is a sign that we need to reconnect with our triad.

The following practices will support your daily rhythms, lower your stress load, and help you notice patterns so you can act early and prioritize the right care.

Horizontal Connection, People Support

Choose at least one way to stay connected each week:

  • Text or call one trusted person and share one win and one need.

  • Walk, stretch, garden, or complete a workout with someone.

  • Plan one nourishing meal with family, friends, or neighbors.

  • Join a faith group, class, support circle, volunteer activity, or neighborhood event.

  • Schedule routine medical, dental, vision, or mental health care when due.

Copy-and-paste scripts:

  • "I'm working on my wellness this week. Can you check in with me on Friday?"

  • "Would you like to take a 15-minute walk with me?"

  • "I could use support today. Do you have a few minutes to listen?"

  • "I want to take better care of myself, one step at a time."

Vertical Connection, God + Purpose

Pick one daily anchor for 2 to 5 minutes:

  • Ask for wisdom, strength, peace, and discipline for the next right step.

  • Read a short passage and write one sentence about what it means today.

  • Inhale: "Give me peace." Exhale: "Help me walk in wisdom."

  • Name three gifts, even on a hard day.

  • Ask, "What matters most today, and what action supports it?"

Purpose statement: "I care for my body because my life has purpose, and I am worth steady, gentle care."

Internal Connection, Body Awareness

🧠 What this section is: Learning your body's baseline patterns so you can respond early to its needs, rather than waiting for exhaustion or illness.

Complete this 60-second check-in once a day. Rate or note the following:

  • Energy (0 to 10): How much physical and mental energy do I have?

  • Mood (0 to 10): What feeling is strongest right now?

  • Stress (0 to 10): What is adding pressure?

  • Sleep quality (0 to 10): Did sleep feel restful?

  • Hunger and fullness: Am I hungry, satisfied, overly full, or skipping meals?

  • Body signal: Do I notice pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, stomach changes, headaches, or unusual weakness?

  • Need: Do I need food, water, movement, rest, prayer, support, or medical care?

Body signal to response list (take action when you notice these):

Signal

Response

Low energy

Drink water, eat a balanced meal or snack, and choose gentle movement or rest.

High stress

Take five slow breaths, reduce one demand, and contact a trusted person.

Poor sleep

Protect the next evening's wind-down and keep the wake time steady.

Repeated symptoms

Write down the pattern and schedule a clinician visit.

Red-flag symptom

Stop and seek urgent medical care.
